All of our staff have passed checks by the Criminal Records Bureau as required by law. We actively encourage staff to follow courses in good practice, particularly the Diploma in Pre-School Practice (DPP) and Certificate in Pre-School Practice (CPP). Every three years, all staff update their first aid course and childcare protection procedures.

We actively encourage parent helpers at our daily sessions once your child has settled at preschool. Helping at the session enables parents to see what the day-to-day life of the setting is like and to join in helping the children to get the best out of their activities. Please speak to a staff member if you would like to come in and help at any time.

The Cygnets Committee

There is an elected committee of parents, who are responsible for the setting and collection of fees, fundraising and the employment of staff. The committee meets twice each term. The committee is elected at the AGM, held in the autumn term each year. Without a committee, Cygnets cannot run so it is a vital role as well as being interesting and sociable for the volunteers involved.
